Darla Sparrow (she/her) is a wife, mama, artist and entrepreneur. She loves to weave, sew, garden, farm, read and dance! Darla feels incredibly lucky to live in Kimberley, BC on Ktunaxa Territory. She enjoys spending sunny days in the yard or at the lake with her family.

    Darla is the owner of Mandala Birth, she has worked as a doula for 15 years, attending over 50 births. Darla is an experienced birth & postpartum doula, she now adores teaching prenatal classes full time and helping folks prepare for labour and birth.

    I found my way to birth work through the book Spiritual Midwifery, the stories and women in the book helped me discover my calling. I’m a Certified Holistic Birth Doula trained through The Matrona. I have a lot of other trainings under my belt with tons of experience to offer clients but I’ll just leave it here in point form so I don’t bore you!

    Farmer

    I have wanted an acreage to farm and homestead since I can remember. We are still aiming to own that dream property in the future. In the meantime we farm sit for locals, and during high season Darla works at Fort Steele Heritage Town in the livestock department, driving the horses and wagons.
    Our goal is to seasonally raise chickens for meat for our community, through the generous donations and grants we raise meat birds for donation to the Kimberley Food Bank and Kimberley Food Recovery Depo. We are working on projects for the future to have mobile chicken tractors in town.
